Atlantic City School Board Does Unthinkable With The Mayor’s Wife
From our “Believe it or not” department, the Atlantic City Board of Education has abdicated their sworn duty and have failed to protect the sanctity of the Atlantic City public schools system.
A board, consisting of a majority of conflicted members met and took no action to suspend La’Quetta Small from her position as chief schools executive.
In advance of tonight’s meeting, we have also confirmed that Atlantic City Marty Small sent out text messages to certain people that read:
They are voting 6pm tonight to decide if my wife will get suspended. The meeting is at the Board of Education, 1300 Atlantic Avenue on the 6th Floor, wrote Small.
Is this improper tampering by Marty Small? Does this unfavorably impact the current criminal charges that he and his wife face?
Marty Small attended tonight’s meeting.
The Atlantic City, New Jersey Board of Education held an emergency meeting tonight, on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 6:00 p.m.
The sole purpose was to decide whether or not to suspend La’Quetta Small from her position as the superintendent of public schools.
This should have automatically been done more than a month ago, when La’Quetta Small was criminally charged by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office with:
LA'QUETTA SMALL is criminally charged with:
- 2nd degree endangering the welfare of a child.
- 3 separate counts of disorderly persons simple assault.
Additionally, Marty Small and Constance Days-Chapman have also been criminally charged as follows:
MARTY SMALL is criminally charged with:
- 2nd degree endangering the welfare of a child.
- 3rd degree aggravated assault
- 3rd degree terroristic threats
- disorderly persons simple assault.
CONSTANCE DAYS-CHAPMAN is criminally charged with:
- second-degree Official Misconduct.
- third-degree Hindering Apprehension of
- Another.
- fourth-degree Obstruction of Justice.
- disorderly persons Failure to Report Child Abuse.
Days-Chapman was immediately suspended upon being criminally charged. She is the Principal of Atlantic City High School.
A majority of Atlantic City Board of Education have direct conflicts of interest because they have immediate family members who have jobs within the Atlantic City public schools system.
It’s disgraceful. To even stage tonight’s meeting … They had to hold an emergency meeting to vote on the “Doctrine of Necessity,” in order to permit them to vote … on matters where they otherwise would have a conflict of interest and be prevented from doing so.
Marty and La’Quetta Small hold a lot of power over these board members. It showed tonight.
Marty Small succeeded in convincing a majority of the Board of Education to not take action regarding La'Quetta Small.
They have now created an absolute crisis that the state of New Jersey must promptly resolve.
The Atlantic City Board of Education had hired David Rubin as special counsel for the La'Quetta Small matter. Rubin is an expert in school board law.
Rubin well knows that the Atlantic City Board of Education was required to suspend La'Quetta Small because the criminal charges she faces are child abuse charges.
We have confirmed that Rubin recommended to the board that La’Quetta Small should be suspended
In the end, the Atlantic City Board of Education simply ignored this experienced attorney’s recommendation.
The Atlantic City taxpayers paid for this special counsel and the school board failed to take his advice.
The Atlantic City Board of Education has now exposed the taxpayers of Atlantic City to significant potential liability.
It is now imperative for the state of New Jersey to immediately step-in and reverse this reckless decision.
I refuse to believe that New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy will tolerate this outrageous situation.
