You don’t see this every day.

A candidate who will remain on the election ballot for New Jersey State Senator in District 2, Atlantic County, New Jersey is asking voters not to vote for him.

In fact, Libertarian candidate Shawn Peck says that he wants the voters to instead vote for Senator Vince Polistina.

Last Friday, October 20, 2023, Peck dropped out of the race and formally endorsed Polistina for re-election.

However, the ballots are already printed and Peck will remain on the ballot through General Election Day on November 7, 2023.

Yesterday, Peck blast texted countless Atlantic County voter cell phones (mine included) writing:

This is Shawn Peck - Do not vote for me. Vote for Vince Polistina.

Last week we wrote about the fact that Polistina had written a letter to New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin. blowing the whistle on a shady Super Political Action Committee, located in Jamaica, New York.

Polistina said:

A dark money, shady, sham Super PAC out of Jamaica, New York, called Jersey Freedom, has started sending mail in Atlantic County encouraging people to vote for Mr. Peck. Mr. Peck indicated he has no idea who the group is or why they would be supporting him. I understand Jersey Freedom is also sending similar mail attempting to boost the candidacy of a 3rd party candidate in Legislative District 4, wrote Polistina.

Here is a copy of Polistina’s letter about this Super PAC as follow:

"Unfortunately for Mr. Peck, and the residents of Atlantic County, others from outside of the County have attempted to use him and his candidacy to perpetrate fraud on our residents and interfere with a fair and free election. Mr. Peck is so concerned about this fraud that he has now decided to end his campaign," said Polistina.

POLITICO, New Jersey Globe and others face been reporting about an interference scandal in South Jersey state legislative races.

The scheme appears to be promoted by the asp values “Jersey Freedom” Super PAC, which is based from a Queens, New York PO Box … with tte apparent goal to siphon votes from Republican candidates.

The PAC has discovered a loophole in the New Jersey campaign finance laws and they have been able to conceal the donors and campaign expenditures.

Peck caught on to the political scheme and decided that he didn’t want anything to do with it … so, he dropped out of the race and formally endorsed Polistina versus Democrat Caren Fitzpatrick in District 2.
