Atlantic City, NJ View Of Potential Spirit Air Federal Bailout
Some are criticizing and complaining that the federal government should not get involved and bailout Spirit Air. I strongly disagree.
It Was The Federal Government That Interfered With Spirit Air In The First Place
Within the free market system, Spirit Air previously attempted to merge with other airlines … only to be stopped by the previous federal administration.
Spirit Air Would Have Become Stronger, With No Federal Government Assistance Required
Spirit Air would have had more equipment, pilots, etc. and this would not have created any kind of alarming increase in the company’s concentrated overall power … that should have promoted the federal government to stop the merger attempts.
Trump Administration Sees
It is very important for smaller markets like Atlantic City to have reliable air service.
Atlantic City once had a Spirit Air hub … that’s now gone.
Atlantic City has also endured many Florida Flights being cancelled on a regular basis.
It has created uncertainty and much stress in the minds of flyers.
Myrtle Beach Route Will Be Discontinued
Effective May 3, 2026, the Atlantic City to Myrtle Beach route will be discontinued. This route has always had great potential.
It’s Not Just A Bailout
For a potential $ 500,000 million cash infusion to Spirit Air, the American people would receive a substantial ownership stake in Spirit Air.
It’s not just a bailout … it is a collaborative partnership.
The Unique Circumstances
Make a federal, so-called “bailout” of Spirit Air defendable, which I enthusiastically do here and now.
This will help to ensure that the Atlantic City market continues to have reliable air service into the future.
