A.J. Russo has a fine appreciation for the history and traditions of this game as a player and now head coach.

There are very few Thanksgiving Day high school games left anywhere in America.

This annual Thanksgiving Day game means so much to both programs and the generations of graduates and fans of both schools.

There are literally so many wonderful over-lapping loyalties with these two great high schools. Spouses and other family members who have attended both schools.

A case in point is the legendary Lou Paludi. He is a graduate of Atlantic City High School and then took Holy Spirit to great heights as a state championship head coach.

I am a typical example of the Atlantic City - Holy Spirit crossover reality.

I’m a graduate of Atlantic City high school, who also served for four years as a volunteer assistant coach under the legendary David Pfeifer for Holy Spirit‘s track, indoor track and cross-country teams.

My wife and I are also the proud parents of two wonderful Daughter’s (Kristin 2001 and Lauren 2004), who are graduates of Holy Spirit High School.

This annual event is a community happening. It brings family and friends together, year-after-year.

Join our comprehensive broadcast coverage this Thanksgiving morning beginning at 8:00 when Steve Normane, A.J. Russo, Chris Ford, Jr., Frank Campo and I discuss the storied history of this game and a look at this years game.

Then, at 9:00 a.m. join our pregame show with “The Voice” of 97.3 ESPN, Mike Gill. We’ll take a look at both teams and this very unnatural 2020 Pandemic season.

IMPORTANT NOTE: live on-air at 9:00 a.m., I will be presenting A.J. Russo with a “Hurley in the Morning” $ 1,000 Charity Grant for Holy Spirit High School.

Game time kickoff is 10:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit’s Ed Byrnes Stadium.

The field conditions will be wet and rain and 10-20 MPH wind is in the game day forecast.

We’ll have all of the action live and then the entire broadcast will be available on our WPG Talk Radio app for you and yours to listen to on demand at any time.
