Atlantic County Considers Mays Landing Site for COVID-19 Testing
Atlantic County is weighing a plan to open a coronavirus drive-thru testing site in an open space behind the Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing.
Atlantic County Spokeswoman Linda Gilmore said the county is looking at the location because it is unoccupied, has a large parking lot, and it would not impact traffic on nearby heavily-traveled highways and roads.
The site has not been finalized and the county has to submit its plan to the state for approval.
Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small, who has been a proponent of Bader Field for the Atlantic County testing location, said on Facebook live Tuesday evening that he has heard the county’s preferred testing site is the Hamilton Mall site, according to NJ.com.
New Jersey reported 18,696 cases of the coronavirus had been reported, with 31 of the patients from Atlantic County as of Tuesday.
