Police in Avalon have charged a 20-year-old Summit man with vandalizing eight cars in the borough.

Police say that early Tuesday morning they were called out to the west block of 22nd Street, for the report of vandalism to a motor vehicle. After searching the area, officers identified a total of eight vehicles with substantial damage.

Several hours later, Avalon Police Officer James Savini observed a suspicious person exiting a residence. He was immediately identified as a suspect, and following an investigation he was charged with a number of offenses.

Police have identified the suspect at Ryan P. Quinn, 20, of Summit. He faces the following charges: "burglary (third degree) and criminal trespass (fourth degree) of a residence and eight counts of criminal mischief to motor vehicles."

After being charged, he was released on a summons, in accordance with New Jersey Bail Reform Guidelines.
