A small tavern in New Jersey is, apparently, one of the luckiest places to buy a lottery ticket in New Jersey.

Why? Not one, but two people bought winning lottery tickets there for Monday night's Pick 6 drawing and they'll be splitting a $4.9 million jackpot.

And while that is a pretty rare occurrence, it has happened before.

This past September, two Powerball tickets with the same winning numbers for the same drawing were sold at a liquor store in Warren County and those people each won $50,000.

For their efforts, the pub will receive two $10,000 bonus checks, one for each winning ticket.

New Jersey Lottery Executive Director James Carey said in a statement,

Congratulations to our latest Pick-6 winners! Pick-6 jackpots are always exciting for us, and it is rare to see two jackpot-winning tickets sold at the same store. This could be one lucky player that decided to double-down on their ticket or two separate players with shared luck at the same store.

We'll likely never know the answer to that question since lottery winners in the Garden State can remain anonymous.

The Pick 6 jackpot now resets to $2 million for the next drawing on Thursday, May 16th.
