Best Ice Cream (Custard) in South Jersey According to Yelp and You!
Is there anything better in the summer than ice cream? Being a summer oriented area, we have a ton of ice cream places in South Jersey. Which ones are the best?
I scoured Yelp.com to see which places they rated the highest and then asked you to call in and Tweet your favorite ice cream places. Of course there were no shortage of places to call the best. Here are 8 of your favorite ice cream shops in South Jersey.
Earning itself 4.5 stars Skipper Dipper is one of the highest rated ice cream parlors in southern Ocean County. They offer both soft serve and hard ice cream. One Yelp user wrote: "Love, love, LOVE Skipper Dipper!!! It's been a family favorite for many years and we visit multiple times during our LBI stay. I would not get ice cream anywhere else!..." Another user wrote: "Absolutely fantastic ice cream!! Some of the best I have ever had! This is THE ice cream to get on LBI...."
This one comes from a listener, Taylor, who called in telling us her favorite ice cream place. She said she loves Little's because it is family owned and has the best ice cream. Doesn't hurt that it's earned 4.5 stars on Yelp. One Yelp user wrote: "Best ice cream in Atlantic county. Black and white milkshakes are the best...."
Ranked quite high on Yelp is this ice cream shop in Ocean City. Yet another one that earned 4.5 stars. One user wrote: "This is hands down my favorite place for ice cream anywhere. It is an old fashioned ice cream parlor that will make any kind of sundae or milkshake etc..." I would say the majority of reviews mention the peanut butter bliss sundae and how good it is.
Courtney from Cape May Court House called in with this ice cream parlor. She said their sundaes are HUGE. One Yelp user wrote: "Great stuff. Soft serve and hand dipped sundaes that we had were delicious..."
Earning a whopping 5 stars this ice cream shop is highly rated on Yelp. One user wrote: "Best ice cream in New Jersey. Still has the mom n pop shop feel with the great friendly service, but has every new ice cream creation you want. A definite must have at least once. And its always open!"

I asked around the office a bit and was recommended Ventnor shop. With a super creative name and 4.5 stars on Yelp Custard's Last Stand seems quite popular. One user on Yelp wrote: "Always one of my favorite treats! Here's what I want in my ice cream: delicious flavor and someone that's smiling to serve it to me. Custard's has both. Love that! 5 stars!"
