Cape May County Zoo Project Will Temporarily Close Entrance
If you are a frequent visitor to the Cape May County Zoo, be prepared for construction over the next few weeks.
The latest offseason project at the Cape May County Park will temporarily close one of the entrances and visitors will be detoured.
For the next five weeks, there will be an extensive clearing of trees and plants in the western section of the park and zoo. The plan is to add a new parking area which will have approximately 1,432 new spaces near the backside entrance to the park.
This project will necessitate the closing of the Park and Zoo entrance off County Road 657, also known as Court House-South Dennis Road.
This means only the Route 9 entrance for the park and zoo will be open as work crews operate in the western section. The work is scheduled for 7 AM to 5 PM each day for the rest of February.
The Cape May County Zoo will continue to be open during its winter hours from 10 AM to 3:30 PM.
