Police in Lower Township have released details of a fatal car-pedestrian accident that took place Thursday afternoon.

Police say that just before 2:30PM, they responded to an accident on Bay Avenue in the Cape May Beach section of Lower Township.

A pedestrian, John M. Baldwin, Jr. 65, of Cape May Beach, was crossing the roadway when he was struck by a southbound vehicle.

Baldwin died at the scene while being treated for his injuries.

Police have not released any information about the driver. They say the investigation is "open and ongoing."
