The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office says sometime this week details about the fatal shooting on the Garden State Parkway in Bass River Township last month will be released.

28-year-old Maurice Gordon of Poughkeepsie, NY, was pulled over by state police on the Garden State Parkway in Bass River Township on the morning of Saturday, May 23rd. At some point during that traffic stop, Gordon was shot and killed by a state trooper. Since the incident, no other details have been released, according to The Daily Journal.

"Our team of independent investigators has been working hard to complete the initial investigation into the shooting death of Maurice Gordon as quickly as possible. That initial investigation is now complete, and we are in a position to publicly release the audio and video recordings of the incident,” Attorney General Gurbir Grewal said in a statement Sunday night published by The Burlington County Times.

William O. Wagstaff, III, an attorney representing Gordon and his family, said after seeing a limited portion of police video of the incident, he has more questions than answers. According to Wagstaff, Gordon, who is black, was unarmed when he was shot by a white trooper several times.
