Disrepair at Atlantic City, NJ Marina – Gardner’s Basin (PHOTOS)
There appears to be one constant about Atlantic City, New Jersey Mayor Marty Small.
Small consistently fails to get the job done. Whether it’s the numerous public housing residents who have been without heat and hot water for years … to the current disrepair at Atlantic City’s historic Gardner’s Basin … that has also now stretched for years.
The incomprehensible part is that Small has many millions of dollars at his disposal … yet, he fails to get the job done.
For reasons known only to him, these important issues are not a priority for Small.
We last visited the neglect at the Gardner’s Basin marina district (see below) back in February 27, 2024.
It appears that almost nothing has been done since.

We reached out to John Devlin, who is a boating enthusiast, who is docked at The Golden Nugget Marina.
Devlin shared his thoughts with us for this update as follows:
It's unfortunate as a boater, resident and taxpayer to see a gem like Gardner’s Basin in such disrepair. It's confusing when I hear the current administration bragging that they are "doing what the say and saying what they do". I have been walking around these docks since I was a little boy and have never seen it in such bad shape. My thoughts and prayers go out to the businesses and families trying to make a living on limited time and very limited assets the city provides. The area is part of the culture of Atlantic City and one of our last natural resources. To see it in such disarray is very sad and concerning, said Devlin.
I visited the Gardner’s Basin area recently and took the following photos. They illustrate that very little has been done by the Small administration to address the many problems.
We call on Marty Small to simply do his job.
