Egg Harbor Township, NJ Police & Prosecutor Large-Scale Event
On Thursday, September 19, 2024, the Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey Police Department and the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office will conduct a large-scale training exercise.
Please be guided accordingly that there will be large police presence in the area of the Egg Harbor Township Community Center and English Creek Avenue between Ocean Heights and the Black Horse Pike.
The event will feature mock training, which will provide these two law enforcement agencies with the opportunity to prepare for various scenarios that could actually present one day in reality.
The mock sessions will include all aspects of law enforcement, including mock press conferences that will take place with actual members of the media.
It will also include mock press releases.
The idea is to make it as realistic as is humanly possible, in order to help law enforcement prepare in that the event that actual scenarios were to occur in real life.
When Tom Foley was Director of Emergency Management for the City of Atlantic City, they held several different mock disaster preparation training with Atlantic City International Airport and AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center personnel.
Their valuable training exercises included a mock plane crash scenario, which resulted in multiple persons experiencing numerous “mock injuries,” which required transport by ambulance to hospitals … stretchers … on sight triage and more.
Mock training exercises are highly valuable and should be done more often.
We commend both the Egg Harbor Township Police Department and the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office for being proactive and not reactive.
Reminder, there will be a large police presence in Egg Harbor Township tomorrow.
There is no need to be alarmed.
