Everything You Need to Know About the Eagles and NFC East on Hard Knocks
Since NFL Films debuted the first season of the documentary Hard Knocks on HBO in 2001, the show has become "must-see television" for Football fans who want a behind-the-scenes look at NFL teams.
The show's original purpose was to give Football fans deeper insights into NFL Teams during Training Camp and before the start of the season.
The initial 16 seasons kept the pre-season focus with some memorable moments and storylines that included the New York Jets shake-weight incident, Browns Pass Rusher Carl Nassib's Financial Advice, and Jeff Fisher's 7-9 speech months before he was fired by the Rams.
In 2025 will be the second season that Hard Knocks will have an in-season show documenting all four teams in an NFL division. While last year's NFL Films cameras followed around teams from the AFC North, this season they will follow around another group of teams with deep NFL history.
2025 Hard Knocks In-Season Will Air On HBO Max This December
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced the pre-season edition of Hard Knocks will focus on the 2025 Buffalo Bills during their Training Camp, and the in-season edition of the show will feature all four teams from the NFC East.
The Dallas Cowboys have been featured on Hard Knocks three times, and the New York Giants once. The Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders (formerly the Redskins) have never been followed around by NFL Films for Hard Knocks.
Last season, the In-Season Hard Knocks featured eight episodes, premiering on December 3rd and episodes released each week until January 7th. The length of the season depends on how long the team's playoff runs will last. The 2025 Hard Knocks episodes following the NFC East teams in-season will debut this December.
Here are my biggest topics involving each NFC East team that I hope get highlighted on the 2025 Hard Knocks show:
*Behind the scenes with Philadelphia Eagles Head Coach Nick Sirianni
Even after winning Super Bowl 59, there are still doubters and people who question if Nick Sirianni is a good NFL Head Coach. Sirianni's evolution over the last four years has generated some great lessons for how to be a successful coaching in Philadelphia.
The 2025 edition of Hard Knocks is an opportunity to show the audience who Sirianni is behind the scenes and why players such as AJ Brown, Jordan Mailata, and others are so passionate in their support of the Eagles Head Coach.
*Year Two for Rising Star Quarterback Jayden Daniels
The Washington Commanders hit a home run when they selected Jayden Daniels with the second overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. In his Rookie Season, the 2023 Heisman Trophy Winner led the Commanders on a deep postseason run to the NFC Championship game.
After defeating only one playoff team during the 2024 Regular Season, how will Daniels play in year two now that all NFL teams have five months of film on him to game plan with?
*Dallas Cowboys overhauled offense with new Head Coach and Wide Receiver
In his first NFL Head Coaching job, Brian Schottenheimer is being asked to not just call the offense in 2025 but oversee a team that has some serious roster changes. Quarterback Dak Prescott is returning from injury, and this offense the Cowboys have tried to retool their offensive line.
The biggest offseason addition was the acquisition of 24-year-old Wide Receiver George Pickens. Pittsburgh Steelers traded away the young Receiver after multiple practices he was late for, along with being late for the Christmas Day game last season.
Will Pickens be on good behavior or will he derail the Cowboys' season? Can Schottenheimer handle being a Head Coach in Dallas? Can the Cowboys defense be successful without DeMarcus Lawrence? Plenty of questions for the Dallas Cowboys.
*Who is the New York Giants Quarterback and how will that impact Brian Daboll's future?
This offseason, the Giants addressed the void at the Quarterback position by adding three players. Along with free agent additions Russel Wilson and Jameis Winston, New York traded up to 25th overall and selected Jaxson Dart in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
After reaching the playoffs in his first year as Giants Head Coach, Brian Daboll has a 9-25 over the last two season. Can Daboll survive one more season to see the Giants' rebuild through or will he be the "scapegoat" for what happens in 2025?
We know there are plenty of NFL players who have appeared in games for multiple NFC East teams, but only these New Jersey High School Graduates have played games for the Philadelphia Eagles:
