Michael DiFlorio, 49, of Williamstown, was sentenced for his April guilty plea to theft charges filed in December by the New Jersey Attorney General's Office.

Authorities said that at the time he admitted taking $56,777 from the South Jersey Elite Invitational Youth Football League, he also revealed that he palmed $1,147 from the exterminating firm that employed him.

In addition to 330 days in stir, DiFlorio was ordered to serve five years of probation for the third-degree charges of theft by unlawful taking. He is also required to pay full restitution to both entities.

According to investigators, DiFlorio dipped into league funds between July 2014 and June 2016, using a debit card he obtained without authorization to withdraw more than $10,000 in league funds and run up personal purchases, writing checks in excess of $32,000 to himself and a friend, and skimming more than $14,000 of proceeds from a championship game.

Detectives who checked with the exterminating company determined that, while in the capacity of supervisor from 2014 to June 2016, DiFlorio took in $1,147 in cash and checks that customers paid to technicians, and didn't turn the money in to the firm, authorities said.

New Jersey State Police detectives in the Criminal Justice Corruption Bureau conducted the investigation. Deputy Attorney General Jonathan Gilmore prosecuted the case and managed DiFlorio's plea agreement. DiFlorio's defense counsel was Michael Silvanio of Woodbury.
