Fire Damages Sack O’ Subs in Ventnor, NJ

A fire in a building at 5217 Ventnor Ave. in Ventnor Saturday afternoon, which housed Sack O' Subs, sent smoke billowing into the sky over the town.

It appears the fire began in the apartments above the sub shop.

Ventnor firefighters closed the 5000 block of Ventnor Avenue to get the fire under control.

The Ventnor Sack o' Subs was the original shop opened by the Sacco family in 1969.

The shop had just reopened after the Sacco family reacquired it.

No further information was immediately available about Saturday's fire.
