It was a privilege to attend a wonderful event today, which honored deserving Atlantic City first responders.

It’s was a great recognition program … the idea was conceived by Executive Director Matt Doherty and his New Jersey Casino Reinvestment Development Authority team.

It also very effectively served as a sneak peek for the fast-approaching Atlantic City Restaurant Week 2021 (October 3-8, 2921)

Today’s awards event reception was presented by the CRDA.

Resorts Casino Hotel and Dougherty’s Steakhouse served as the host for “Atlantic City Restaurant Week First Serve to our First Responders.”

Mark Giannantonio, President and Chief Executive Officer of Resorts Casino Hotel attended and stayed for the entire special recognition event.

CRDA Board Chairman Rich Tolson, Doherty, Phylis Lacca, and many others were on hand.

Doreen Prinzo, CRDA, Manager of Marketing Partnerships did a great job as MC, keeping things moving with the program… yet, Prinzo found such a sweet spot and gave each honoree their special moment of recognition… While still keeping the program moving along.

Here is the complete list of those first responders who were honored today. All were humble and just awesome. The nice crowd gave each a warm applause.

Each recipient took their photo with Small and Evans.

First responders directly refers to: The Atlantic City Fire Department, Atlantic City Police Department, AtlantiCare Paramedics, MEDCOM EMS Dispatchers, Atlantic City 911 Dispatchers, Atlantic City Beach Patrol and Atlantic City Emergency Medical System EMTS.

The atmosphere at today’s recognition ceremony was respectful and high energy in nature.

Doherty spoke, along with Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small and former Mayor Scott Evans, who currently serves as chief of the fire department and the head of Atlantic City emergency management.

Atlantic City Restaurant Week is one of the signature, highlight events of the year.

It will take place on October 3-8, 2021. There are more than 60 area participating restaurants.

It was such a pleasure to witness the community properly recognize important first responders, who save lives on a daily basis… And, in return, they rarely receive the recognition that they deserve.

Today was a wonderful example of the system remembering to remember those who protect and serve.
