“Hurley in the Morning” has exclusively learned and confirmed that former Atlantic City Mayor Lorenzo Langford “will not be running in the Democratic Primary this June, said Langford, exclusively to us.

“However, I am keeping all of my options open that I may be a candidate for Mayor in the General Election,” said Langford.

Langford has alone provided word to me about both his current plans and potential plans.

This is also very big news for Tom Foley, who recently declared his candidacy on the “Hurley in the Morning” program on WPG Talk Radio 95.5

This makes Foley the prohibitive favorite to win the formal endorsement of the Atlantic City Democratic Committee.

Langford is not the slightest bit afraid to run “off the line.” He has done it before and won.

In another previous breaking news report, the Atlantic City Democratic Committee has exclusively confirmed  to us that “under no circumstances will they support incumbent Mayor Marty Small.

What still remains to be seen is what will the Atlantic County Democratic Party Chairman Michael Suleiman do?

He alone awards the official Regular Democratic Party ballot position.

Suleiman went against the Atlantic County Democratic Party’s recommendation last year when he gave the favorable ballot placement to Small.

Small lost the Atlantic City vote by a margin of 37-3.

Suleiman’s decision and the belief that he will do it again has created a scenario whereby a citizen’s initiative and referendum, petition drive is being established to change the form of government in Atlantic City from partisan to non-partisan.

Should this effort be successful, it would be devastating news to Atlantic County Democrats running at large in November general elections.

Former Mayor Langford is a very strategic, bright thinker. Never count him out.

A potential 3-way race between Langford, Small and Foley would be an absolute cliffhanger.

You can make an intellectually honest case that any one of the three could ultimately prevail.

Developing.
