Fox News A-Lister Beats Weather Emergency To Atlantic City, NJ

Rarely does an A-List media personality come along like this very special Fox News Channel star.

Our 15th Annual Harry Hurley in the Morning Charity Dinner & Silent Auction was held on Friday, September 29, 2023 at Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Brian Kilmeade had committed one year ago to be our guest of honor and keynote speaker.

Little could anyone know that on the day of the charity event … Tropical Storm Ophelia would decide to take a second major bite from the Northeast Region.

New York City was taking on 3 inches of rain per-hour. Their public works drainage systems can only manage 1 inch of rain per-hour.

The flooding was substantial and problematic … leading New York City Mayor Erik Adams to declare an official state of emergency.

Ultimately, this resulted in there being no way to get in or out of New York City.

I received a phone call from Maureen McCauley, executive assistant to Resorts Casino Hotel President & CEO Mark Giannantonio at about 1:00 p.m., on Friday, September 29, 2023.

Our limousine that was scheduled to pick-up Brian Kilmeade and his producer, Alyson Mansfield was not allowed to enter York City.

Maureen was exceptional during this entire issue.

With a record crowd scheduled to arrive at the Resorts Casino Ocean Ballroom within 3 hours … my stress level was on high alert.

Over the course of the next 1 1/2 hours, Alyson Mansfield was miraculously able to locate a car to take her and Brian (from New York City) to our awaiting limo at The Alexander Hamilton rest stop on The New Jersey Garden State Parkway.

Brian and Alyson arrived to our event by 5:15 p.m., during the early reception portion of our charity event.

Brian and I took more than 300 photos over the next 30 minutes before our program began at 6:00 p.m.

Remarkably, our charity event was somehow running right on time.

It would have been so easy, understandable and defendable had Brian said that there’s a state of emergency … I wanted to be with you, but, we’re stuck … we can’t get out of New York City. There’s just no way to get to you.

On top of all of this … Brian Kilmeade had already been awake since the early 2:00 a.m. hour … he co-hosted “Fox & Friends” from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. … then, hosted his The Brian Kilmeade radio show from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon … then, he filmed his “One Nation with Brian Kilmeade” Fox News Channel weekly television program.

From there, Brian and Alyson (Brian credits Alyson) strategized on how to get out of New York City and to our limousine and make it to Atlantic City in time for our charity dinner.

Brian Kilmeade’s speech … delivered extemporaneously … was one of the most comprehensive and detail oriented that you will ever hear … with compelling content that featured more than 200 years of American history.

Brian stayed for another hour after his speech … took audience member questions … and continued to autograph custom bookplates for his newest book … “Teddy & Booker T.,” which will be released on November 7, 2023.

While we were so fortunate to have an early preview … the official kick-off for Brian’s book tour will be on Thursday, November 9, 2023 in Red Bank, New Jersey.
