Fugitive found driving stolen vehicle: Northfield, NJ, Police
A man who was wanted for failing to appear in court on aggravated assault and weapon charges was allegedly found behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle in Northfield this past weekend.
Martes D. Robinson of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, Arrested
The Northfield Police Department says just before 10:00 Saturday morning, May 18th, one of their officers saw a white Chevrolet Trailblazer with multiple violations.
That officer stopped the vehicle in the area of Roosevelt and Second Avenues and discovered it had been reported stolen the day before.
The driver, Martes D. Robinson of Egg Harbor Township, was taken into custody without incident.
Robinson was wanted by the Atlantic County Sheriff's Department for failure to appear in reference to aggravated assault and weapon charges; he had been arrested on those charges in Somers Point at the end of April.
Robinson has now been charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle and he was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
Keep Your Car Locked
With an increase in car burglaries and stolen vehicles, residents are reminded to lock their vehicles and remove their keys from inside.
As always, remain vigilant and you are asked to report all suspicious activity to the Northfield Police Department by calling (609) 641-3122.
The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
