One man is dead following a motorcycle crash in Egg Harbor Township Saturday afternoon.

Egg Harbor Township Police say the accident happened at about 2:35 Saturday afternoon on the Black Horse Pike near Elmwood Avenue.

According to police, the driver of the motorcycle, Joseph Seif, III, 46, of Galloway Township was eastbound on the road when, "Seif drifted off the roadway for an unknown reason, striking a curb causing him to lose control of the motorcycle. The motorcycle overturned several times before coming to rest on the grass median."

Seif was taken to AtlantiCare Medical Center in Atlantic City where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.

Traffic on the Black Horse Pike was detoured for about 3 1/2 hours Saturday afternoon.

The accident remains under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to contact police at (609) 926-2661.
