A 29-year-old man from Sewell has been arrested after a bizarre incident over the weekend that began at a Washington Twp. motel.

It was around 11 p.m. Saturday when a patron at the Primrose Motel on Black Horse Pike knocked on the room door of Gregory Tripp after hearing loud noises, according to Courier Post. Tripp answered the door and reportedly hit that person with a gun.

Tripp then fled the motel and ran into the nearby New Jersey Transit bus garage, Courier Post reports.

Washington Township Police and Gloucester County SWAT responded to the scene, which was evacuated. Buses arriving at the depot were rerouted for a time. The delays reportedly stalled eight different bus lines while law enforcement attempted to resolve the matter.

After a short negotiation with police, Tripp was taken into custody. He was reportedly transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Gregory Tripp now faces multiple charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

There was no update regarding the motel neighbor who was reportedly pistol-whipped by Tripp at the Primrose Motel. We'll keep you posted if any more details surface regarding this incident.
