Sicklerville Man Accused of Hiding $585 in Pokémon Cards in Stroller
Washington Township, N.J. — A Sicklerville man is facing shoplifting charges after Washington Township Police say he concealed nearly $600 worth of Pokémon cards inside a child's stroller and walked out of Walmart without paying.
The incident was among eight arrests made by the Washington Township Police Department this past weekend, during which officers handled nearly 320 calls for service.
Some of the more notable arrests include the following:
Two DWIs, One on the Wrong Side of the Road
A Williamstown man was pulled over during a motor vehicle stop and later registered a .23% blood alcohol concentration (BAC).
A second DWI arrest came after officers found a Browns Mills man stopped in the middle of the Black Horse Pike near Stagecoach Road, facing against the direction of traffic. He registered a .15% BAC.
Wrong Name, More Charges
A Camden man was arrested on active warrants after providing officers with a false name during an encounter. The move earned him an additional hindering apprehension charge on top of his existing warrants.
Hospital Had a Busy Weekend
Jefferson Hospital generated several police calls over the weekend. In the most unusual, a patient fled the emergency department with an IV still in his arm and made his way toward a nearby restaurant. An officer located him and returned him to the ED.
The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
