Maserati Rolls Multiple Times, Killing NJ Man in Williamstown Crash

Monroe Township, N.J. — A 54-year-old Franklin Township man is dead after his Maserati struck the rear of a Toyota that had exited a Walmart parking lot and was changing lanes on the Black Horse Pike early Thursday morning.

The crash happened at approximately 12:06 AM near the intersection of the Black Horse Pike and Malaga Road in Williamstown.

Police Describe What Happened

According to the Monroe Township Police Department, a Maserati was traveling westbound on the Black Horse Pike when a red Toyota, driven by a 33-year-old Woodstown man, exited the Walmart and merged onto the highway before initiating a lane change into the inside westbound lane.

The front of the Maserati struck the rear of the Toyota.

The force of the impact caused the Maserati to roll over multiple times, ejecting the driver.

Driver Dies at the Scene

Despite life-saving efforts by police and emergency personnel, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and a passenger in the Toyota were taken to Cooper Trauma Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash is being investigated by Sgt. John Van Leer of the Monroe Township Police Department's Traffic Safety Bureau. Any witnesses are asked to call (856) 728-9800.

The Williamstown and Cecil Fire Companies, Gloucester County EMS, and Inspira Paramedics assisted at the scene.
