
Lower Township Man Charged With Attempted Murder After Gunfire
Lower Township, N.J. — A 20-year-old Cape May County man is facing an attempted murder charge in connection with an August 29 incident involving multiple gunshots near the Mulligan Sports Complex.
Leshaun Davis was taken into custody without incident on August 31st when detectives and the Cape May County Regional SWAT Team executed a search warrant at his home in the Villas.
Lower Twp. Police Investigating Gunfire
According to the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office, Lower Township Police responded to the area of the Mulligan Sports Complex at 10:37 PM on August 29th for reports of multiple gunshots.
No one was struck.
Detectives from the Lower Township Police Department and the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit identified Davis as the suspect.
Villas Man Charged With Attempted Murder
Davis was charged with first-degree criminal attempt-murder, second-degree aggravated assault, and second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

The prosecutor's office has not said whether someone specific was targeted or what prompted the gunfire near the Mulligan Sports Complex.
Authorities say there is no ongoing threat to the public and Davis is being held at the Cape May County Correctional Facility.
