Harry Hurley: A Walk Down Memory Lane Regarding COVID-19

As someone who has been faithfully compliant during the protracted COVID-19 pandemic … I wanted to take this opportunity to take a walk down COVID-19 Memory Lane with you.

It’s been the equivalent of “The long and Winding Road” … cue Sir Paul McCartney, please.

It all seems like “forever “ ago,

We were asked to cooperate and give the government just two weeks of our lives to “flatten the curve.”

Two weeks turned into well more than a year.

First, Dr. Anthony Fauci told us not to wear face masks. He actually made up some convoluted rationale that we didn’t have the proper training to wear a face mask … He said that we would not be able to refrain from touching it … and, we could make ourselves sick in the process.

In other words, he lied to us. But, it was a “good” lie.

The lie was most likely because there was not enough PPE to go around during the early months of the pandemic.

Regardless, it was still a bad lie. It eroded public confidence in Fauci as time went on.

Next, Dr. Fauci switched it up on us and flipped the script and advised that we should wear face masks. Then, he started wearing two face masks.

Lives were lost and ruined. Businesses were destroyed. The American people were locked down and many were prevented from earning a living.

It was surreal.

Next, then President Donald Trump was cracking the whip on all of the scientists and pharmaceutical companies and promised to deliver a working vaccine before the end of 2020.

The rabid, hostile Trump national media called him a liar. They decided that there was no way for a vaccine to be created in such a short amount of time.

They proclaimed that Trump would be a “miracle worker” if he could deliver on this promise.

Of course, all of the pharmaceutical companies who had achieved the greatest response to a health pandemic in the history of the world… kept their ultimate success a secret until after the November, 2020 general election.

Make no mistake about it, this was not a coincidence. This was to hurt Trump and help Joe Biden become President of the United States.

Next, we were told to take the COVID-19 vaccine and you will get your life back.

In fact, President Biden proudly proclaimed and promised … If you take the vaccine, “The pandemic is over for you.”

Until it wasn’t over.

Now, the CDC is advising that we should wear face masks indoors all over again.

You can’t blame the American people for feeling betrayed and lied to.

Fauci says the science hasn’t change … the disease has.

In fairness, he has a point, The Delta variant is much more contagious then the Alpha was.

In fact, one person can infect 8 different people in seconds.

More than 2/3 of America reside in states right now with high transmission rates.

I don’t ever attempt to speak for the American people, however, it’s easy to see that they are exasperated.

The psychology in America is very fragile at this time.

Raise your hand. How many of you are ready to start this and other curbs all over again?

It’s starting to have that same feel all over, again. COVID-19 positive cases have now reached February levels.

We have hit the latest critical phase of this pandemic.

More than 1/3 of the American people remain unwilling to take the vaccine.

And, make no mistake about it … President Biden twice in one day calling unvaccinated Americans stupid is not helping the situation one bit.

Let’s also not forget that most students in America haven’t been in the classroom since the second marking period, from two school years ago.

That’s a public disgrace. They have irreparably been hurt.

Just when we thought the pandemic was over … no, it isn’t.
