An iconic diner in the heart of South Jersey has closed its doors after 60 years of serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and everything in between.

Geets Diner, at the corner of the Black Horse Pike and Sicklerville Road in Williamstown, shut its doors without notice Monday. A story from says, "The restaurant was closed down and customers ushered out around lunchtime Monday afternoon, according to reports on a community Facebook page."

The diner and its huge red neon letter sign have been a landmark in South Jersey for around 60 years. As someone who grew-up in Williamstown, nearly every set of directions to get somewhere in or around town involved turning at, going past, or at least referencing Geets. reports the diner's owners filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last May. On Monday, the case was converted to Chapter 7, which is also known as liquidation bankruptcy.
