This is a real life moment of truth. We’re all in this together. United We Stand. Divided We Fall.

I wanted to take this opportunity to share my approach for dealing with our “new world” since the Coronavirus.

My approach will be to try my best to compartmentalize and break things down into hopefully manageable segments.

You can say, it’s actually a day-by-day reality, and, that’s true. I’m going to attempt to break things down into two week segments.

Dealing with the week that we’re in, and, planning for the next week ahead. At this time, President Trump has placed us in a two-week modality.

We can then continue to recalibrate and adjust as we go forward, as more data becomes known. Along with this, it is imperative that we support our local restaurants and businesses.

60 percent of American businesses are small businesses. They are the backbone of our country and our economy. Many can become insolvent within 2-3 weeks when they are unable to generate revenue.

Additionally, the employees lose their jobs, or lose payroll hours. Many of our local restaurants are providing takeout service, while their sit down business is prohibited.

This can be the difference between survival for the next weeks ahead; or, losing their business.

Today, Margie and I picked up wonderful take out meals (pictured here) from Gary’s Restaurant in Pleasantville.

We have a list here that provides you with the names of various restaurants and businesses who are operating in this changing environment. Supporting our local businesses will enable them to stay open and provide jobs for our fellow citizens.

Together, we can defeat the challenge of our lifetime.
