Local law enforcement agencies are warning South Jersey residents about a couple of phone scams happening in the area.

The New Jersey State Police says callers are impersonating state troopers, attempting to threaten people into giving up personal information.

Meanwhile, Wildwood Police warn that locale residents are receiving calls from people claiming to work for Atlantic City Electric. Customers are being falsely told that their service is being terminated - unless they purchase prepaid credit cards  in order to extend their service.

Both agencies say to just hang up if you suspect you're received a fraudulent call.
