Looks Like The Black Lives Matter Protest in Atlantic City Is On
It’s true. No good deed goes unpunished.
Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small rolled out the “red carpet” for activist Steve Young.
Young told the Mayor that he’s never had a seat at the table with certain key working partners.
Namely, Young wanted a seat at the table with the CRDA, The Atlantic City Casino Hotel Association, Tanger Outlets and AtlantiCare.
You can imagine how hesitant many of these fine professionals were to sit down and legitimize Steve Young.
Mayor Small had to really sell that this was in the best interest of Atlantic City.
Small worked all last weekend and into this week to make this meeting happen.
Small achieved Young’s request and delivered everyone that he had requested.
Incredulously, before the meeting was set to begin, Young asked Mayor Small to leave the room.
Beyond outrageous. Beyond disrespectful.
Small did not leave the meeting.
At a press conference, Facebook Live event, Small pledged his support for African-American community.
Small also promised to protect the best interests of the citizens, business owners and visitors of Atlantic City.
Then, Small proceeded to rip into Young. You can view Mayor Small’s comments on his Marty Small, Sr. Facebook Page.
At this time, it is very likely that the Young - “Black Lives Matter” event for this Saturday, July 4, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. will take place.
In other news, we received an email from a person who said that he is a member of The Pagan’s Motorcycle Club.
He advised that the caller from yesterday on WPG Talk Radio 95.5’s “Hurley in the Morning” was not a Pagan.
He wrote the following to us:
“Dear sir
As a member of the Pagans Motor Cycle Club I would like to inform you that the individual interviewed recently by Mr Hurley was NOT a member of the Pagans Motor Cycle Club. We have NO intention of participating in any protest related activity of any sort. We are a motorcycle Club. We ride. Plain and simple. We are NOT going to be in Atlantic City this weekend for any protest, or counter protest. Please clear the air on this issue.“
This is a developing story. We’ll update here you as warranted.
