Man Killed in Machinery Accident at Vineland Food Processing Plant

A worker was killed in a machinery accident at a food processing plant in Vineland early Saturday morning.

According to The Daily Journal, rescue crews were called to Safeway Fresh Foods on North Mill Road around 12:40 early Saturday morning. Authorities say Felipe Rodriguez-Tzon was pronounced dead at the scene from an unspecified machinery accident in a refrigerated area of the facility.

Vineland police detectives and the Southern Regional Medical Examiner's Office are investigating the accident.

NJ.com reports OSHA issued the company safety violations in 2013 and 2018. One was for unsafe forklift operations.
