Mays Landing, NJ, Man Is Guilty — Drugs, Guns & Eluding Charges

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed that a Mays Landing, New Jersey man has been sentenced on a variety of guns, drugs and eluding charges.

Devon Banks Has Been Sentenced As Follows:

Devon Banks, 27 years old, from Mays Landing, New Jersey was sentenced by New Jersey Superior Court Judge Donna M. Taylor as follows:

• An aggregate term of seven years in New Jersey State prison.
• With a five-year period of parole ineligibility

The Charges

Banks previously pleaded guilty to:

• second-degree certain persons not to possess weapons.
• third-degree eluding.
• two counts of possession with the intent to distribute CDS.

Facts Of The Case — From The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office

On May 24, 2024, officers from the Pleasantville Police Department observed a tan color Hyundai Elantra making an illegal turn and cutting off multiple vehicles. When police activated lights and sirens to pull the vehicle over, the vehicle sped up and would not pull over. Thereafter, police lost sight the vehicle. The vehicle crashed at the intersection of North New Road and California Avenue. Once located, the occupants of the vehicle pointed to a male who took off on foot. Devon Banks was soon after captured by police and identified as the driver of the vehicle, said the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office further confirmed that on June 12, 2024, New Jersey State Police Officers executed a search warrant at 300 Absecon Blvd Room 210, Absecon New Jersey.

They found Devon Banks in possession of a 9mm handgun, crack cocaine, and $ 5,350.00.

Banks is prohibited from possessing firearms.

In the spring of 2020, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office's Gangs, Guns, and Narcotics Unit confirmed that Devon Banks selling drugs.

Banks was charged with possession with the intent to distribute CDS.

The prosecution was directed by members of the Gangs, Guns, and Narcotics Unit.
