Authorities say a man from Millville is now facing up to life in prison and a $10 million fine after he admitted to conspiring to distribute and possessing with intent to distribute more than 400 grams of fentanyl.

36-year-old Emanuel Figueroa-Martinez pleaded guilty to charges on Wednesday, according to Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael Honig.

Honig's office says in April 2020, "Figueroa-Martinez conspired to distribute five kilograms of fentanyl. On April 24, 2020, Figueroa-Martinez transported the fentanyl to a location in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Upon arrival, he was arrested, and the fentanyl was recovered from his car."

The offenses to which Figueroa-Martinez pleaded guilty each carry anywhere from ten years to life in prison and a fine of up to $10 million.

Sentencing is scheduled for February 8th.
