Temple's Ryquell Armstead was a name to keep an eye on coming out of the NFL combine when he ran recorded a blazing 4.45 40-yard dash in Indy,

Now he’ll try to earn his way on to the active roster in Jacksonville, as the Jaguars took the Millville alum in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft with the 140th overall pick on Saturday.

Armstead, a tough runner from Millville, rushed for over 2,500 yards in his career including 1,488 yards and 18 TDs as a senior at Millville high, including a school single-game record with 337 rushing yards in 2014.

After being the lead back at Temple his senior season, in Jacksonville, he will compete for carries with veterans Leonard Fournette, Alfred Blue and Thomas Rawls.  One area he will need to improve on is catching the football, he only caught only 29 passes in 47 college games at Temple.
