Mt. Ephraim, NJ, man dies after teen punches him in the head: Prosecutor
Prosecutors say a teenager from Collingswood is now facing a manslaughter charge after a man that he punched in the head died from his injuries.
The incident happened Saturday night, March 23rd, in the parking lot of Walgreens at 20 West Kings Highway in Mt. Ephraim, Camden County.
Oron Beebe of Mt. Ephraim, NJ, Dies
Police officers arrived to find 46-year-old Oron Beebe of Mount Ephraim lying on the ground, suffering from an apparent head injury.
Authorities say during an investigation, detectives learned that the victim was punched in the head by a juvenile, causing him to fall and hit his head on the ground.
The juvenile suspect was identified as a 16-year-old male from Collingswood.
Collingswood, NJ, Teen Charged
On March 25th, that juvenile was charged with second-degree aggravated assault and taken into custody in Cherry Hill by the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force.
On Easter Sunday, Beebe succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at Cooper University Hospital in Camden.
The following day, the juvenile was charged with second-degree manslaughter.
He remains lodged in the Camden County Youth Detention Center.
