Bail has been set at $5 million for the man who decided getting away from the scene of the crime was more important than the life of his 2-year-old son.

It happened Tuesday in Tullytown, PA, when Christopher Kuhn of Hamilton, NJ, (Mercer County) ran away after stealing speakers from a Walmart. According to witnesses, he did not strap in his 2-year-old son who was sitting in the backseat.

He did, however, find the time to cover up his license plate so police wouldn't be able to track him. Intent on getting away, he ran a red light crashing into another car, causing his 2-year-old son to be thrown out the window.

Police eventually caught up to him. Unfortunately his son died after being taken to the hospital.

WABC-TV says Kuhn is being charged with third degree murder, homicide by vehicle, and retail theft. Even worse, Kuhn had shared custody of the boy.
