NJ U.S. Senators Voted Against Slain Laken Riley, Why? [OPINION]

It’s outrageous. Only 9 United States Senators voted against the Laken Riley Act, yesterday.

Two of the 9 are Cory Booker and Andy Kim, who are New Jersey’s two United States Senators.

84 United States Senators voted yes.

Let me explain how this works. The United States Senate requires 60 votes to even begin the discussion and consideration of a bill.

Booker and Kim wouldn't even vote to allow the Laken Riley Act to even be debated.

That’s disgraceful on their part and it puts them way out of the mainstream of their colleagues and the American people.

Laken Riley was a 22-year-old nursing student at The University of Georgia, when she was brutally murdered.

Today, Friday, January 10, 2025 would have been Laken Riley’s 23rd Birthday.

An illegal migrant stands criminally charged with committing her violent murder.

The Laken Riley Act will tighten controls regarding illegal migrants who commit crimes within The United States.

It’s inexplicable how/why New Jersey keeps sending radical, left-leaning Democrats to represent them in The United States Senate.

On November 5, 2024, the citizens of New Jersey had a fabulous alternative in businessman Curtis Bashaw, who ran a brilliant campaign versus Andy Kim.

For reasons unknown, New Jersey keeps sending Democrats to Washington, D.C. in the United States Senate.

New Jersey has not elected a Republican to the United States Senate for more than 50 years.

It makes absolutely no sense.

However, Jack has Ciatterelli earned 48.5 percent of the popular vote in 2021 for Governor and United States President Donald Trump (in 2024) had the most impressive performance since President George H.W. Bush for President.

The state of New Jersey is starting to move away from radical Democrats and it’s becoming competitive.

The United States Senate voted yesterday 84-9 in favor of the Laken Riley Act.

Remember, that Booker and Kim were two of the 9 who didn’t.

By comparison, United States Congressman Jeff Van Drew, NJ-R-2 does listen to his constituents.
