NEW YORK — A New Jersey man was one eight people who lost their lives in Tuesday's terror attack.

Darren Drake, 32, of New Milford, was out for a bike ride between meetings at his job as a project manager for Moody's Investors Service at the World Trade Center. He had recently lost 90 pounds, according to his father.

"While other people would take cigarette or coffee breaks, he would go out and ride the bike for 15 or 20 minutes," Jim Drake said.

His father told North Jersey.com Darren was working on a second master's degree at the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken.

He was a graduate of New Milford High School and was a former president of the school board, according to the team's Facebook page.

"He was a very gentle soul. He was murdered, and it's not right. It's such a tragedy," Mayor Ann Subrizi told the news site.

Jim Drake told ABC 7 Eyewitness News, "I'm not even angry, I'm not angry at all. I'm hurt. I'm absolutely hurt."

The other victims of Tuesday' attack in which Sayfullo Saipov drove a rented Home Depot truck on a bike path in Lower Manhattan on Tuesday afternoon, mowing down pedestrians and bike riders. Eight people were killed, including five high school classmates having a reunion in New York.

The names of the victims are Ariel Erlij, Diego Enrique Angelini, Alejandro Damian Pagnucco and Hernan Ferruchi, all from Argentina; Ann-Laure Decadt, from Belgium, and Nicholas Cleves, of Manhattan.

The identities of 12 people who were injured have not yet been disclosed.
