Ocean County, NJ, Wildfire Closes Rt. 539; Smoke Seen on Radar

The New Jersey Forest Fire Service responded to an active wildfire off Route 539 in Machester Township, Ocean County, at about 7 PM on Tuesday.

The fire in the area of Joint Base McGuire–Dix–Lakehurst is reported to be threatening structures and forcing the closure of roads.

Route 539 is closed in the area of Route 70, according to the New Jersey Forest Fire Service.
