Police Find Massive Drug Stash When Man is Evicted From Atlantic City, NJ, Casino Hotel Room
Authorities in Atlantic City say they uncovered a massive stash of drugs while a man was being kicked out of a casino hotel room last week.
The scene unfolded last Friday, October 13th, when officers with the Atlantic City Police Department responded to the Tropicana after security guards there allegedly found narcotics in property that had been removed from a guest's room during an eviction process.
Police say the following items were found in that room:
- 11,695 individual bags of heroin
- More than 3.3 pounds of unpackaged heroin
- 40 grams of cocaine
- 820 ecstasy tablets
- Paraphernalia used in the manufacturing and distribution of narcotics
- 3 handguns
ACPD detectives were requested to investigate the owner of the contraband, who was later identified as 42-year-old Abdurrahim Abdullah of Atlantic City.
According to authorities, Abdullah was arrested the following morning when he returned to the Tropicana and attempted to enter his hotel room.
Abdurrahim Abdullah has been charged with the following:
- 3 counts of possession of CDS
- 3 counts of possession of CDS with intent to distribute
- 3 counts of possession of CDS with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public zone
- Maintaining/operating a manufacturing facility
- Possession of narcotic paraphernalia
- 3 counts of unlawful possession of a weapon
- Possession of hollow-point ammunition
- Possession of a large-capacity magazine
- Possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense
- Certain person not to possess a weapon
- Money laundering
- Possession of a ghost gun
Abdullah was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
