
Prosecutor: Woman Found Dead in Ocean County, NJ, Died from Natural Causes
Authorities in Ocean County say a woman whose body was found in a wooded area in Waretown earlier this year died from natural causes.
Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer says the body of 42-year-old Megan Campana of Seaside Heights was found in a wooded area of the Barnegat Branch Rail Trail near County Line Road in Waretown on June 4th.

On October 25, 2021, the Ocean County Medical Examiner released the results of a forensic toxicology report issued in connection with the post-mortem examination performed on Ms. Campana. The Medical Examiner ruled the manner of Ms. Campana’s death to be from natural causes.
Campana's death was originally considered to be suspicious, according to the Asbury Park Press, and she was believed to have been living in the woods near the trail when she died.
