The Egg Harbor Township Police Department has released terrible news.

On Thursday, August 5th, police arrived at an accident in the Bargaintown area of EHT, at the corner of Zion Road and Central Avenue. Recently retired Atlantic City Police Sergent, Joe Falcone was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle when he was hit by a Ford F450 truck who was attempting to make a left turn on Central Avenue. The truck was being driven by 39-year-old William Wellington. Falcone was pronounced deceased at the scene, Wellington walked away with no injuries.

By chance, I just happened to arrive on the scene right after this fatal crash occurred during my travels through Egg Harbor Township. Zion Road was shut down for 3 hours post-accident. There is currently an ongoing investigation.

Falcone leaves behind a wonderful wife and multiple young children.

We have spoken with multiple retired police officers who worked directly with Falcone, including my twin Brother, Don Hurley.

He was a great police officer and a decent and honorable man.
