A former Super Bowl MVP quarterback is visiting with the Eagles, per sources.

While Nick Foles has been rumored to return to the Eagles, the team is looking to find a veteran backup behind presumed starter Jalen Hurts and will meet with Joe Flacco.

Flacco, who won a Super Bowl MVP with the Ravens, is a local product who played his high school ball at Audubon. He spent the 2020 season with the New York Jets, appearing in five games with six touchdowns and three interceptions, completing just 55% of his passes.

Now 36, Flacco has never been the most mobile quarterback and would seem like an odd fit behind Hurts but would likely come cheap and bring a veteran presence, something the team is looking to add behind the second-year signal caller.

The last time Flacco was a full-time starter was during the 2017 season in Baltimore.  He also opened the 2018 season as the Ravens starter before being replaced by Lamar Jackson.

In that 2017 season, Flacco had 18 touchdowns and 13 picks. His best season was 2014 when he threw for 27 touchdowns and 3,986 yards.

Flacco still has some interest on the open market, he will also meet with the 49ers, who let backup let Nick Mullens walk this offseason.
