We recently introduced you to Ed Cisternas who left Toms River to go to Europe to help his family flee the war in Ukraine.

Obviously, this was no simple task.

It wasn’t like Ed was simply going to the airport to pick up his family. Mr. Cisternas had to go to Europe and then drive into Ukraine get the family and head to the border into Poland.

Ed left for Poland where he met up with journalists who were traveling to Kyiv and they offered to lead him through back roads of Ukraine to avoid Russian Army troops.

Along the way, Ed saw fighting and soldiers on both sides, members of the Ukraine Army and Russian Army as well.

In his travels, Ed saw refugees who were driving and/or walking from war and trying to head to NATO countries like Slovenia and Poland. Ed saw life and death during this rescue mission. He will not call what he did heroic, but I will. This was an amazing undertaking and we are glad he and his family are safe and out of Ukraine.

Ed took time to talk with me about his trip and what he witnessed. Please take time to watch our interview and hear what he witnessed and encountered during he and his wife's trip to Europe.
