A South Jersey man who was an aide to former Gov. Chris Christie is facing a decade in prison for child porn.

On Monday, 43-year-old Kevin Tomafsky of Washington Township pleaded guilty to a charge of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

A plea agreement will require him to serve ten years in prison, five of which must be served before being eligible for parole. He will also be under parole supervision for life and will register as a Megan's Law offender.

Arrest and Investigation Details

The Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office states that Tomafsky was arrested on December 14, 2022, following the execution of a search warrant at his home.

During the search, detectives found devices belonging to Tomafsky that contained images of child sexual abuse and exploitation. Further investigation revealed that he caused some of those images to be made and transmitted to him via the internet.

NewJerseyGlobe.com reported Tomafsky was a former aide to Gov. Chris Christie.

Co-defendant Still Facing Charges

Charges against codefendant Anthony D'Alessandro are still pending.

Sentencing is scheduled for September 12th.

The charges against D'Alessandro are accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
