Stolen car suspect in Atlantic City, NJ, gave cops her sister’s info: Police
Authorities in Atlantic City say a suspect who was charged in connection to a stolen car gave officers her sister's information at the time of her arrest.
On the evening of May 12th, an ACPD officer located an unoccupied stolen minivan in the first block of Tennessee Avenue.
Police say they were able to learn that two occupants, Adam Ross and a woman originally identified by authorities as Aine Wallace of Northfield, had exited the vehicle shortly before the arrival of officers, but they were soon taken into custody.
About eight hours later, the same ACPD officer located another stolen vehicle in the first block of South Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard; Ross was allegedly found to be the driver and he was arrested again.
Police now say the woman involved in the first stolen vehicle arrest was not Aine Wallace but her sister, 33-year-old Caitlin Rainey of Northfield.
According to authorities, Rainey gave them Wallace's information when she was arrested.
On Wednesday, Wallace brought this discrepancy to the attention of the Atlantic City Police Department, which had issued a press release containing Wallace's name, saying she had been arrested and charged.
It was learned that Rainey has allegedly used several aliases in the past to avoid being arrested for active warrants.
At this time, Rainey now has a warrant out for her arrest and she faces charges in connection to the stolen vehicle investigation and, additionally, crimes related to her using her sister’s identity.
