Summer Openings in Atlantic City Postponed
This summer, Atlantic City was supposed to see the openings of a few different projects. However, things don't always go as planned and these project openings have been postponed.
Steel Pier has been preparing for a 200 foot observation wheel since 2013. The wheel was supposed to be in operation by Memorial Day, then it was pushed back to July, and now it is expected to open Labor Day. The project is estimated to cost $14 million dollars.
A beer garden that had an opening date of July 4th of this year has been pushed back as well. The Bungalow Biergarten was planned to be opened on the boardwalk between South Iowa and South Belmont with fire pits, a game area, and outdoor kitchen. Developers have said permits have prevented them from opening this summer.
The Tennessee Avenue Transformation Project did not have a specific opening date, however the goal was this summer. The biggest project was to revitalize the area with shops, restaurants, pop-up parks, bars, live music and more. The project completion has now been pushed back to October and a coffee shop, yoga studio, chocolate bar, and beer garden will be added.
Construction for the Tennessee Avenue Transformation Project has begun, however developers wanted to unveil multiple facets at once rather than one at a time.
