With COVID cases continuing to spike in New Jersey, Gov. Phil Murphy may be forced to declare a new public health emergency if he wants to extend his pandemic powers.
New Jersey continues to set new records for positive COVID tests. The seven-day average has now hit 11,905, which is more than double the number from last week.
On Monday, Murphy wished New Jerseyans a "great holidays" and put in another plug to get vaccinated and boosted. "Please God, get vaccinated, get boosted, and be smart," Murphy said.
Determined to finish the school year with as many school kids on classrooms as possible, the Murphy administration is considering a "test and stay" program.
