12 people from New York were indicted Wednesday for allegedly using 52 stolen credit cards in five Atlantic City casinos to perpetrate a cash advance scheme that stole nearly $300,000 from banks that guaranteed the transactions.

Based upon filings with the state, the total gaming win from casino hotels in Atlantic City open for the entire month of August and internet gaming operations was $289.9 million in August, 2014, compared to the $263.6 million in casino win for August, 2013, reflecting a 10% increase.

There's almost $1 billion this year in non-gaming revenue being generated in Atlantic City, a fact that's being lost in the gaming glut happening nationwide, according to Liza Cartmell, president of the Atlantic City Alliance.
