The state Attorney General’s Office is reviewing the death of a woman while she was in the custody of the Paterson Police Department on Friday.

Daniel Ackley, 33, of Millville, was shot on Jan. 4 around 9:30 PM after two different emergency calls were placed by a relative, asking for help at the home on Burns Road as shouting is heard in the background.

The state had accused Navient of deceptive conduct, unconscionable commercial practices, and misrepresentation in servicing thousands of New Jersey consumers’ student loans over a decade.

As the state’s requirement for all uniformed police to wear body cameras takes effect in June, the state has expanded which officers are included in that mandate.

Inmates currently in prisons across the state on non-violent drug convictions now can apply for new sentencing.

Environmental officials are working to get several property owners to clean up their acts around the state, including in Middlesex, Mercer and Atlantic Counties.
